Studio Anne Carlton Isle Of Lewis Chess Set with board. This Ivory and red chess set is remarkable and includes all 32 pieces. Each piece is hand sculpted prior to making a mold. The pieces are handmade with a stone enriched resin. All mold lines are removed. All pieces have a felted bottom. These pieces are reproductions of the Isle of Lewis chessman.
Approximate Measurements:
King: 3-1/2”
Pawn: 1-3/4”
Most pieces are in great condition with minor imperfections and slight carve line fading on some pawns. However, king and queen of red set have broken pieces to crowns as pictured. White queen also has very slight broken portion of crown as pictured. Does not include box for pieces.
Board is wood and measures 18” L x 18” W x 1” H. Hand carved details. Some imperfections around edges of board as pictured. Also some imperfections to back/bottom of board with what looks like water damage to bottom. Board is made in England.
Board weighs about 2 lbs, pieces weigh about 1 lb 8 oz total.
