Preoccupations "Ill At Ease"

BASTARDS Mostly is about being annoyed by other people, and then at some point realizing that everyone else is as equally annoyed by you, then meeting in the middle and sharing a profound and unified sense of enjoyment at a worlds impending doom. ILL AT EASE I was trying to convey the feeling of waking up, but not being able to shake the uncomfortable suspicion that you might still be dreaming. It’s also about making amends with the fact that you might never feel comfortable in your own skin, and finding solace in the fact that some things can’t be changed. RETROGRADE Is about aging, and trying to be better at taking things as they come, but also about making the same mistakes over and over, which I think someone at one point has said is the definition of insanity. It’s about embracing the insanity of it all. ANDROMEDA Was trying to paint a sci-fi picture here where one universe collides with another, being alone in the middle of it all and missing the people you love. Its also about trying to stay calm in the middle of a crisis, which I probably wouldn’t, but like I said, it’s Sci-FI… PANIC Is about having an overwhelming sense of panic hit you, and doing your best to feel anything at all other than it, or trying to feel nothing at all. Again, it’s also about age and loss of memory, trying to recollect a vital, life changing, piece of information that just can’t be found. SKEN Is an end of the world tune. Basically sitting and waiting with your loved ones while everything burns around you, not knowing where you’re going to go, or what’s going to happen after, but knowing that the people around you are still there and that’s all that matters. KREM2 KREM2 was a tv station out of the northwest U.S that we used to pick up in Canada when I was young. The main guitar part in this track gave me nostalgia for being a kid and watching American television. I kind of reimagined it as the last station still broadcasting in a distant future, cutting in and out while reporting something along the lines of an invasion.
