A very old, large, and beautiful Arizona White Mountain Apache Burden basket with 52 tin jingles. The jingles were originally hung to alert other gatherers where everyone was in the brush or forest. Some natives believe that if you mount it by your front door those who pass can leave their burdens inside the basket before they enter. It csn be hing a few different ways to see it from all directions. It is around one hundred years old and an excellent condition for its age. There is one small area of separation from the deer skin leather as pictured, but doesn't effect the structure. Please see the measurements in photos.
